A Brief Introduction
Ringwood & District Anglers Association has been in existence for 50 years and has grown steadily from its humble beginnings after the second world war. Over the years the club has gained control, or access, to some of the finest fisheries in the south, a fact highlighted by the regular appearance of club members in the angling press with specimen fish.
As a club we are proud to provide a wide choice of primarily coarse fisheries catering for all angling tastes, with many waters offering the very real chance of an exceptional specimen. A glance at our record list is proof of this, with many records being broken in the last few years.
The club is run by anglers for the benefit of anglers and this is reflected in our regulations. Our excellent relationship with riparian owners has allowed us to negotiate many benefits including extended fishing times on the Avon and Stour, with night fishing on selected venues.
We consider the club to be very progressive and the recent purchase of two of the finest lakes in the south (Hightown and Northfield) to add to the other waters we already own is a major step in securing the Club's future. Your membership will run annually from the date you join and includes not only close season fishing but also trout and salmon fishing on certain waters. Truly a full twelve months fishing.
Did You Know?
Ringwood & District Anglers Association have access to almost 10 miles of the legendary Hampshire Avon and more than 20 miles of the fantastic Dorset Stour, plus a choice of magnificent stillwaters. Our waters cater for all angling tastes, from novice to those out for that fish of a lifetime.
The Complete Angling Experience
Don't let our name deceive you. we control waters almost 30 miles from Ringwood, from the secluded upper Stour set in the magnificent bills of west Dorset to the renowned Severals Fishery in the heart of Ringwood. Many of our fisheries are our own, offering unspoilt and uncrowded fishing on some excellent water, many boasting specimen fish of near record proportions. Barbel of 141b plus, 71b chub and magical 31b roach are recorded almost every season, add to this 301b plus pike and carp to a fraction under 401b and you can see why we claim to have the complete angling experience.
The Waters
At Ringwood we are naturally proud of our unique selection of waters, we know you will see why.
Hampshire Avon
We control some of the best fishing on this river, this includes the nationally famous Severals Fishery and Ibsley. These waters are renowned for their specimen barbel and roach but also contain many excellent chub, pike, bream and large shoals of dace. Many specimen fish are caught here every year.
Dorset Stour
The fishing starts in west Dorset set in the magnificent unspoilt countryside around Blandford and Stourpaine, many of these waters offer quality roach fishing in total seclusion. Moving cast we control many similar stretches. Past Wimborne we arrive at Parley and Bounds Farm home to a good head of chub and barbel together with the ever present pike.
Throop Fisheries
Next stop is the exceptional Throop fisheries. We now control and manage the whole of this splendid fishery which allows our members to plunder its vast shoals of chub, bream and barbel.
Still Waters
Our assortment of lakes should cater for all angling tastes. Carp and tench anglers should find their quarry in abundance at Hightown and Northfield. The Northfield complex offers tremendous tench and bream fishing, many specimen tench are recorded here each year. The main pit has improved every season and enormous bags of tench and bream, with many exceeding 1001bs, are regularly taken, The Wash Pit is a small, feature filled water with an enormous head of carp and an abundance of small fish that are willing to feed in the hardest of conditions.
Hightown is a splendid lake with something for everyone, from large carp to bream, roach, tench and perch. It has an increasing reputation for large carp, with a 'forty' not too far away and has, over the past couple of seasons, produced some very large pike.
The bonus is that both these complexes offer twelve months fishing at no extra cost.
We also have access to some of the magnificent New Forest ponds
Now you know why we are so proud of our 'complete angling experience'.
